How long do the cakes keep?
Poppin' Cakes have a fairly long shelf life! If kept securely wrapped or in a cake keeper the cakes should stay good and fresh for 10 days to 2 weeks.
What is the best temperature to keep the cakes?
Room temperature is best but Poppin’ Cakes can withstand outdoor heat if necessary. There is no need to refrigerate.
How do you make your popcorn?
We make fresh popcorn from a commercial, theater-style popcorn machine. We have found the perfect combination of butter and salt to make all the popcorn that goes into each cake delicious and special!
If I have a special request can you make my cake “made to order?”
Yes, please contact Mary at 910-232-2228 if you have special request or any ideas or questions. Mary will be happy to make your cake just the way that you want it. Some “add-ins” may have a small additional fee.
Who should I order a Poppin’ Cake for?
Everybody! Although children love Poppin’ Cakes, adults do too! Poppin’ Cakes are great to take to parties, cookouts, school events, bible school, slumber parties, potluck dinners, road trips, etc. They are also wonderful gifts for an entire family, a new mother, a teacher, an employee or a boss. Remember, treat yourself too!
How do you slice the cakes?
It is best to use a bread/serrated knife to slice your Poppin’ Cake!
How many people does a Poppin’ Cake serve?
Depending on the size of the slice you can get 16-20 slices per cake.
Does every cake have peanuts?
Yes, but if you do not care for peanuts or have an allergy please contact Mary and she can make your cake peanut-free easily.
Where can I get a Poppin’ Cake other then online?
Mary sells Poppin’ Cakes in Wilmington, NC at the Downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday’s and at the Poplar Grove Farmers’ Market on Wednesday’s (April – December). If you are local or ever in the area, stop by, say hello, and have a taste.
What are my delivery options?
Your Poppin’ Cake can be delivered by USPS ($8.95) in 2-3 days or for local customers we provide local delivery ($6.95). We also provide a pick up option at Wilmington’s Downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings or Poplar Grove Farmers’ Market on Wednesday mornings during market season (April – December).
After I complete my order how long until I receive my cake?
If your cake is being shipped it should be received 2-5 days after ordered. If you are a local customer your cake will be ready 1-2 days after your order.
